| Music Warehouse began the competition season once again with their sixth trip to Bishop Leurs. Out of 18 groups, Music Warehouse placed third overall. The group also took home more trophies than any other group that year. Kevin Kale was the Outstanding Percussionist award, for the second time. Branton Milholland was awarded for the fourth straight year the Outstanding Bass award. And the entire Pit won the first place trophy for Backup Bands. After that, Music Warehouse went to the First Annual Jasper Swing Choir Invitational and received first runner up. Branton Milholland again won the Outstanding Bass award, and the "Warehousemen," the stage crew, won the best crew award. The highlight of the 1983 year was travelling to New York City in April to compete at the International Festival of Performing Arts: Young Manhattan Music Festival. Music Warehouse was honored as the only group to receive the distinguished Gold Medal. |
