| The beginning of Music Warehouse.... In September, 1975, the first swing choir was formed at Edgewood High School. The first group was composed of 20 members, and performed under the name of Newcomers Revue. A quote from the 1976 concert program: "The '75-'76 Newcomers Revue is comprised of 25 talented singers, dancer, and musicians of grades 9-12. With this school year being the "swing choir's" first, many long hours and hard work has resulted in excellent dividends. THe Newcomers' high quality of enthusiasm and showmanship have delighted audiences throughout the area. Consequently, the Newcomers is rapidly becoming one of the most sought-after groups around." This year's group also began the tradition of singing "Beautiful City," a four-part harmony song from the musical "Godspell." April 30th and May 1st was the production of "Li'l Abner," with both choir students and EHS students performing in the show. With this show began the tradition of showmanship from Edgewood choirs. |
