9XDEAD
My daughter (Gary) came up with the name 9xdead (Gothic Punk Metal) after watching a programme about Meercats, one narrowly avoided being caught by a bird of prey. She then mentioned the fact that the Cat has only eight lives left, so hence lose 9 lives your dead = 9xdead. Chris, Paul and I formed the band in 1998, but due to personal reasons we split up until 1999 when Chris and I (Gary) reformed 9xdead with the help of a couple of others (who lasted less than 3 months) and played our first live show in the Autumn of 1999. We met Owen who was to be 2nd guitarist but who ended up singing and being 1st guitarist, we managed a handful of shows, then in the Autumn of 2000 we enlisted the services of Rachel to come in and provide 2nd guitar. We recorded our demo that Winter. Another line-up change came when Owen went awol in the summer of 2001. Paul rejoined in August of 2001, but had to leave the band late 2001, due to a brain tumour. Chris decided to quit after Christmas, Owen rejoined in January 2002, Rachel then went onto to fill the vacant Bass slot. We were a three piece for roughly 20 months, we released a CD through Valiant Death Records USA in June 2003. Paul rejoined (again!) in January 2004. After successful surgery and a long convalescence. Line-up from January 2004 ........................ Owen - Guitar/Vocals, Paul - Guitar, Rachel - Bass, Gary - Drums
