Rush - Hemispheres
I am 38 years old and when I was a teenager, Rush was the band that got me interested in prog.... Well, over the years Rush has gathered a little dust because I have been listening to so much of the great prog music out now.  After seeing Mark's picks, I put Hemispheres in the CD player and gave it a good listen.

Geddy's awesome vocal-bass-keyboard work, Alex's fluid guitar playing, and the Professor's brilliant drumming still give me goose-bumps.

Not to mention the great music and lyrics (being a huge sci-fi and fantasy fan, Rush's lyrical content always appealed to me).

Thanks Mark for helping me to re-discover one of the bands that started it all for me.  Peace everyone.  JB

King Crimson - Islands

I was struck by how haunting this record is.  With soon to be Bad Company's bassist Boz Burrell assuming lead vocals, when I first heard it, I liked it but didn't love it.  It has grown on me over time and now I regard it as one of their finest achievements.

Here we have Sinfield's lyrical palette in full force for the last time on a KC record, and some nice orchestral parts.  The title track is just plain eerie.  A great record for a cold, rainy day...

The album cover is pretty cool also!   Andre

Return to Forever - No Mystery
No Mystery was the second album made with the killer lineup including Al Dimeola, Stanley Clarke, Lenny White, and Chick Corea; the third in this series with the playing philosophy.

The high points on "No Mystery" ... are tracks 6 through 9.  Celebration is a true epic.
