The Artist

Doug Reeves has spent most of his life in and around the music business. He was a musician, playing for several years each with Freddy Fender, Stella Parton, and several other country music artists. he spent the last seven years in Nashville, Tn. learning the craft of songwriting.

Doug is back as a resident in Mt. Airy, N.C., and has just finished his first solo project: "Searching The Map For Mayberry." The title track is about many people's Search for a better life- looking for a town like Mayberry to live in. Many of the songs are direct reflections of the "Andy Griffith Show," such as "One Bullet Man" and "Ernest T.-Don't Throw That Rock At Me." A couple , such as "Growing up on the farm," are about simple country living.

Doug Says, "Most of these songs just fell out of my pen. The subject of Mayberry, and Mt. Airy, are near and dear to my heart. I think that's why the songs on this CD were so easy to write. I hope they bring a smile to the face of everyone who hears them."
