Bataan Source: MB.COM.PH Author: Date: April 12, 2002 Songbird en route to Bataan This month, Bataan will have yet another reason to celebrate as Regine Velasquez treks to its capital city of Balanga for a one–night only concert performance at the 6,000–seater Bataan People’s Center next Saturday, April 20. Asia’s Songbird takes with her a repertoire of some of her most recent hits including songs from her latest platinum album, “Reigne,” as well as her popular movie themes and other hits. Joining her entourage is special guest Gabby Eigenmann, her musical director, Raul Mitra, the Opera and some of the country’s finest session artists backing her up. Regine’s Bataan show is in fact a fund-raising project spearheaded by Maxi–Media International and Fr. Ernie de Leon on the San Roque Parish in Lamao, Limay, Bataan. Proceeds from the show will help fund the completion of the new Church which the community has been rebuilding for the last three years. Fr. Ernie excitedly reports that the response to Regine’s show has been overwhelming and tickets have been selling like hotcakes since he first announced Regine’s concert shortly before Holy Week, and tickets are now fast selling out. “Regine… Live on Tour” happens at the Bataan People’s Center at the Provincial Capitol Compound in Balanga City, Bataan. Tickets are available at McDonald’s Balanga, and Catholic Parish offices of Bataan. “Regine… Live” is a production of Maxi–Media International and is presented by Petron and Victory Liner.
