Mis-teeq

Originally a four-piece, but now three R& B/Garage band Mis-teeq have been called the UK's version of destiny's child, which they take as a great compliment. They have had an amazing start to their career with the top 10 hit why? Which peaked at no.8 and spent a couple of weeks in the top 10. They are an original garage band in the way that they have female mc's which is very rare for successful girl bands. They are Sabrina-the lead singer, su-ellise-the backing singer and Alesha-the female mc. The band followed up their debut hit with a huge no.2 hit-all I want which was only beaten by Shaggy to the top. It sold 47,000 copies in the first week of release. They are tipped for further success when they release their album and follow up singles. The band have even had a go at presenting when they took over Popworld for three weeks. This was one way of promotion for their single and it certainly worked because all I want became one of the biggest hits of 2001 with why? Still hanging around the top 100 of the year since it's release five months previously. They proved that they were no flash in the pan when they had another big hit with one night stand, the band's third single-which featured an album sampler in the video for their top 3 album, lickin' on both sides. This was the biggest selling garage album of the year.
