ghost

i feel your presence
a ghost
in my house
your smell lingers on my
clothes,
your taste, on my lips
your favorite chair,
the blue-checkered beside
my television set,
still holds the imprint of
your body.
there are other things too,
i eat peanuts out of boredom,
even though i had bought them
just for you.
and i cannot bring msyelf to
throw out
or return to you
the cds you forgot,
so they sit, a silent reminder of your
bad taste.
i even watch your football team

maybe you and i had become
so much the same,
that i will forever feel you here.
if throwing away that chair,
or destroying those cds
would diminish your presence, i would
but i know it is not the things
but the girl
that is stalking me
i haunt myself with memories
