| In 1987 Billy met James, and they started playing together. Their first show was July 9th In 1988, they met D'arcy, after a show they got together, and she started playing with them(she wasn't invited to join because of her playing talent or lack there of). Billy and D'arcy's first words were an arguement over weather the band they had seen was put together by a record company, it led into BIlly giving her his number, and them getting together. There first show as a threesome, was on August 10 1988 at the Avalon. Jimmy was recommended by a friend, and had seen the band before. Jimmy thought they were horrible but knew they had potential. Their First Show as a group of 4 was Oct 5 at the metro. In 1989 the band self released a couple of tapes. In september they toured out of Chicago! In 1990 they released several vinyls, and signed on to Caroline records, but changed to Virgin records later. The title for gish is annouced, named after the actor Lilian Gish |
