He started playing his first instrument 'Banjo' at the age of 5 when his family and even Salman was unaware of the fact that he would become a talented guitar player in coming future.
As his playing was very much appreciated, Salman started giving it more time and that was the moment when he slowly started falling in love with the musical notes. He started playing the tunes on Banjo himself after learning the first musical note from his uncle who used to play 'Banjo' and then he got inspired by the sounds of few other instruments. He tried Flute, Saxophones, Harmonica and keyboards as well and playing so many instruments while his childhood gave him a lot of confidence to begin with guitars.
Finally at the age of 16 he bought a local acoustic guitar which was not even mechanically fit because it was a low price, second hand, repaired guitar but the availability of a guitar was important and enough to bring out his hidden talent. He gave it heart and dedication, heard a lot of music and tried to play it himself and finally the results showed everyone that he's best at guitars as compared to other the instruments.
Besides writing, composing, producing and performing his own music, Salman has also been attached with several Pakistani mainstream artists as a session guitar player, music composer, live performer and music producer for a decade. There are three full albums on his credits for which he performed session guitars while there are many singles in which Salman's magical guitar work is quite evident.
This self taught guitar player has never kept himself stuck to one music genre and there are various styles and types of music which could be found while listening to his music.
There are very few musicians in Pakistan who have ever thought to touch one of the most difficult forms of music known as Jazz and Salman Anwer is one of them. Salman is still learning Jazz and his skills with Jazz are evident in few of his tracks like Twilight of her Love, I Wont let you Cry (which is a combination of Flamenco and light Jazz), Fantasy and Dark Days Bright Nights.
