In the Spotlight...
A Note to the Listener from RAIN:
"RAIN
has existed for about three years. Built on influences from the '60's
and '70's mixed with the sing along chorus' from the '80's with the sounds
of the '90's. There should be something for everyone on this album.
RAIN is a pop/rock act with a sharp edge that cuts right through the heart
of the matter."
I'll agree with that. The band, from Norway, is currently offering a 14 song CD-R that features (from left 2 right) Peppa on drums, Tore Moren on lead guitar, Michael Bormann on lead vocals and Lars Forseth on rhythm guitar. Guest musicians are Sonny Crow, Bjorn Boge, Ture Janson and Carl Hovind.

The
production is good. Even better considering it's a very independent
release. Singer Michael Bormann is something else. What a voice
on
this guy! Highlights are the great driving song, "Anyway the Wind
Blows", the emotional rocker, "Talking to My Heart" and the gorgeous "The
Best is Yet to Come". This song starts off with light acoustic guitar
leading into a mid tempo groove and melody that make you think about your life. The keyboard
effects on this song add to the moodiness of it all. Brilliant work
on this one. The remaining songs on the album are pop/rock in various
genres. As stated above, "there should be something for everyone".
