Musical Background :
I have taken a Master's Degree (Hindustani Classical) from the S.N.D.T
University, Mumbai, where I have learnt variety of subjects, with reference
to music, like Carnatak Music, Western Music, Rabindra Sangeet, World Music,
Psychology and Music, Dance Music, Musicology, History of Music, Physics of
Music etc.
I have studied all the above subjects not just for the sake of exams. In
fact, I did my M.A. for the sake of studying all these subjects in depth.
I am doing a Ph.d in music from S.N.D.T. University, Mumbai, on 'Importance
of Yoga to singers, with special reference to voice culture'.
I have presented a paper
in the
First International Conference
on Consciousness, Theatre, Literature and the Arts was held in May 7-9,
2005, Aberystwyth, Wales, UK. It was organized by the Department of Theatre,
Film and Television
. The title of my paper was
�Importance Of Yoga in Music
Education�.
Anupam Naad Lahari :
I conduct vocal music classes - Hindustani classical and light - under this
banner. I also conduct Bhajan (devotional music) classes. My approach of
teaching is a holistic one, giving equal importance to music as an art,
performance as well as science.
I also teach the subject - 'Music for Individual
Development' - to students of Troy State University, Alabama, U.S.A.
studying in Empire Institute of Learning, Mumbai, as a visiting faculty.
Leheren (Hindi or mixed) or Laharee (Marathi) is
the title of my programmes:
I give musical stage performances, with informative compeering, specially
designed to suit your likings. It can be chosen from a variety of themes.
Every theme has its own beauty and identity and is unique by itself. It can
be chosen as Marathi, Hindi or Mixed. I can design a new theme, specially
made for you, with songs of your choice to suit your tastes and likings.
Sant Vachan: Theme based on Devotional Music i.e. Bhakti
Sangeet of Saints of Maharashtra
Aaj Aur Kal: Theme based on Film Songs or Bhavgeets
Raag Rang: Theme based on Semi-classical film songs
It's A Small World: Theme based on World Musics
Swar Saunvad: Theme based on the impact of Western Music and
Other Musics on Indian Music
Lok-Par-Lok: Theme based on popular songs based on Folk Music
of Maharashtra and/or Regional Folk Music
Swar- Saaz: Theme based on Evolution of Music in India/Maharashtra
and/orSaints of India.
Workshops:
As a sincere student and researcher of Music, Allied Therapies and Yoga I
conduct workshops based on the combination of the subjects. My speciality is
the study of Omkar, Voice Culture and Music (Sound) Therapy. Other than the
subjects given below I can design other workshops as per your needs, with
reference to the subjects of my interest mentioned above.

Other activities:
Apart from the above subjects I have studied other subjects like Yoga and
Allied Therapies with equal liking and have a deep interest in the quest for
spiritual growth. I have done a diploma in naturopathy and short courses in
allied therapies. I am a Reiki Master and a qualified Yoga Teacher. Also, I
love poetry. I have put to verse more than 250 verses in English, Hindi and
Marathi. I have set to music some of them.
I am on the editoral board of the monthly 'Yoga Tarang', published by
Ghantali Mitra Mandal, Thane.
I work for
Sanskar Bharati, Thane, as a
board member and have worked as a chairperson for its music
activities.
Sanskar Bharati is an all India organisation, working for the
promotion and enhancement of Indian Culture.
Apart from gathering knowledge of all these subjects, I
have been doing some research work on voice culture, raaga therapy and music therapy,
on my own. I would like to share this knowledge and my views together in the
featuring pages.
I would be adding articles and other features, as and when required,
