Describing who does what

as a list

  1. Julie performs the beat. She repeatedly sings "dum" and then hits a small drum with her hand. This is done quietly then loudly.
  2. Tom plays a repeated rhythm (an ostinato) using a tambourine. He keeps the sound quiet by holding it one hand and taping it with his fingers.
  3. Susan plays the tune on a xylophone using a soft headed beater. She starts to play after the introduction.
  4. John performs sound effects at the start of the piece. He uses his voice to sound like a motor engine, starting quietly and getting louder.
  5. Pamela plays the chords with her right hand on the upper keyboard on the first and third beats. She also sings the tune with Susan in the second section of the composition.
  6. Bill performs a bass sound on the lowest notes C and G on the porta sound keyboard using an organ tone (Number 12). He makes sure that this is mainly in the background.

as a paragraph

Julie keeps a steady slow beat. The others watched her hand movement and listen to help them all to keep the sounds together. Tom plays a rhythmic ostinato on a tambourine. He uses a good technique as he holds the drum in his left hand and moves the fingers of his right hand to play it. Susan plays the tune on the xylophone. The tune has four notes and she uses one soft headed beater to play it.
