Context
This music was composed for the film ‘Planet of
The Apes’ the film is of the sci-fi genre. Two astronauts of the 20th century
are caught up in a time warp. They
land on a strange planet, which seems like earth but with Apes as the dominant
species. In one part of the story the apes hunt people on horse back in the same
way as people hunt animals
The film was made in the late 1060s. It has a large
orchestra with extra wind and percussion. A variety of timbres and textures are
achieved using these extra forces. The effects are subtle and need to be
investigated carefully.
