  Introduction

The introduction prepares the listener for the start of the main section.

It should provide:

• The mood

• The speed of beat

•  Feeling of anticipation 

• sometimes teasing the listener

• elements of the tune i.e. rhythms, motifs

Lightly Row 1

This very plain melody can be given character through the textures and rhythms you create in the accompaniment.   Also you can decide:

• Articulation

• Speed

Link

The link has a similar function to the introduction but also

• Gives an opportunity for performers to changing instruments

• Introduce some new melodic or rhythmic material

Lightly Row 2

• A second variation of Lightly Row

• A chance for a complete change in interpretation.

Coda (An ending section)

•    Lets the listener know that the composition is coming to an end.
