Music Video Treatment: Basically theres no set layout you have to go by. The main idea is to be able to get across your idea to the artist as clear as you can. The artist is just an ordinary person so don't put in anything they wont understand. Make something that exciting and eyecatching and that theyll want to give you thousands of dollers to do. They have to trust your idea so go into alot of detail so they know exactly what they will be getting. Sell the idea!

How to start off: If you want to become a music video director and you are serious then the first thing you need is a camera! Preferable get a digital one. This will make it easier connecting it to your computer. Also try to get a tripod, this will make your film look at least half professional. The main thing you need to do is get outside and film. It doesnt matter if its skating videos, music videos, movies or motorbike videos. Just get the feel of making movies. Youll need extras so invite all your friends over one day so they will do it for free.

On a budget: So your like me and got no money. No worries you can easily shoot a movie for free. Theres many tricks I do to save money. My main one is use scenery as much as possible. Its free and it can look good if you want it to. Another tip is to go ask your school, club etc. for props you can borrow. Always try to borrow things from your friends.   Although m ake sure you return them straight after though otherwise youve blown borrowing anything else in the future. If you dont have any lighting no worries. You can either ask around to find some work lights or find spots where you won't need any. Also shooting in black and white will help the lighting issue. Dont worry it will pay off in the future when you have your reel finished. Good luck and go shoot!!! If anyone else has anymore tips send them in.
