Chapter 7

Carly knew that the new officer might be the kidnapper. She knocked on the door to a room above Kelly�s. Officer Monterro opened the door and Carly stepped in. The officer was wearing a black t-shirt and jeans.
�What are you doing here?� The officer asked.
�I wanted to talk to you about the kidnaps.� Carly answered. �Do you have any idea who the kidnaper may be?�
�No.�
�You just have no idea what it�s like to be away from your children. Not to know if they are ok.�
�Yes I do. I had a baby girl who I lost.�
�What happened?� Carly was curious.
�I was young, it my first year on the force. I was supposed to arrest this hooker who had ties to mob activity. I had a one night stand with her and she got pregnant. I lost my job because of it and my boss told me that if I loose all contact with her I will get hired back. So I lost all contact. The next time I sow her she had already given the baby up for adoption.�
�Did you ever try to find her?�
�Yes, I tried but what can I do, I don�t even know her name.�
Carly was still suspicious of him and she decided to walk passed him and pretend to trip. She then grabbed his shirt and it ripped. She was so surprised to see that there were absolutely no scratches on his skin. He was an innocent cop doing his job.
�Oh, I�m so sorry.� Carly apologized.
�That�s ok.�
�Hay, I hope you find your daughter, you both need to meet each other.� Carly wished him luck and left.

Sage went to visit her now boyfriend Chris. He was so lucky to be living on his own. She entered his house and it was freezing in there.
�Hay, what�s up? Listen, the air conditioning doesn�t work properly. For some reason it�s always 50 degrees and I can�t stop it or make it warmer. Here�s a jacket, it will warm you up.� Chris explained why it�s freezing in there. Sage put the jacket on. They talked for a few minutes and then Chris went to kitchen to get some food. Sage started to walk around the room. She saw the thermostat and decided to mess with it. She reduced the cold down to 70 degrees. About an hour later it was warm. Sage removed the jacket. Chris refused to remove his. He claimed it was still cold. Sage tried to hug him and he pushed her away. He claimed that he fell down the stairs yesterday and he scraped his back and now it hurts and he doesn�t want her to aggravate it.
