Chapter 2

Jason was standing outside of Max�s room at the hospital. He had talked to Ric, Sonny, Carly, Alcazar, and Faith. Jason suspected Alcazar because his obsession with Carly could make him kidnap and then return and pretend to be the big hero. Of course Jason�s suspicions were cut short when Sage told him that she and �Uncle Lorenzo� were at Kelly�s at the time of the kidnaping. Latisha, the nanny, told the cops that the attacker was wearing a mask and he came around 10:30. Poor Latisha, she was shot in the leg and couldn�t run affter the criminal. Jason felt sorry for her and for Max, who was having a bullet removed at that time, and for the boys. Jason�s train of thought was cut short when his cell phone rang. �Hello?�
�Hi, Mike saw both, Sage and Alcazar.� Courtney reassured that Alcazar wasn�t lying. After a short conversation they hung up and Jason saw Carly sitting on the floor. He walked over to her to see if she�s ok, she wasn�t crying anymore.
Carly saw Faith coming and she stood up. Before Faith could even say anything Carly ran away as if she was insane.
�What�s up with her?� Faith asked.
�Her kids are gone, and your in her face, as usual.�
�Don�t be so grumpy.� Faith told Jason and walked away feeling unwelcome. She hated Carly and her kids but she actually felt bad for her. Carly loved those boys. After feeling sympathetic, Faith wandered if she is losing her edge, now she could get on Carly�s nerves all she wants to but for some reason she can�t force herself to be the b**** that she is.

�Lucky!� Ric called over one of the cops. Lucky walked over and looked up at Ric. �Meet Officer Monterro, this is Officer Spencer.� Ric introduced the new cop. Officer Monterro was tall, dark, and handsome, according to the ladies of the PCPD. Ric checked out Monterro�s file and he found that the cop has been temporarily suspended some 30 years ago for sleeping with a hooker who was under suspicion for involvement with the mob.
