Chapter 1: Shadows on the wall

By Angel

Ric opened the door to the house. Alexis was holding a sleeping Kristina. She walked in and gasped of shock, Ric followed. The house was a mess, the windows were spray painted, the furniture was ripped up, the china was shattered. Ric immediately called the cops and told Alexis to go outside.

The cops arrived and searched the house. Clear! One cop yelled.
Empty! Another one replied.
Here too! A third one participated.
Seems like the house is empty. A cop told Ric, Its seems like a regular teenage prank, I would not worry if I were you.
Thank you, officer. Ric expressed his gratitude.
No problem! The cop replied while getting his boys and getting out of there.

Ric walked in and Alexis followed. An aggravated Kristina was crying in her arms. (She was awaken when the cops arrived.) She handed her daughter to Ric and started picking up the glass from the floor. Ric took Kristina to her bedroom and put her to sleep. Then he returned to help his new wife clean up. She was almost done but there was still help required. They both cleaned up the entire mess.

Come on honey, turn of the lights already. Ric complained, Im trying to sleep.
Just give me a minute, Im almost done.
How much do you have to go?
Just 3 and a half pages. Alexis was getting wrapped up in a good mystery novel.

She put down the book and kissed Ric on the nose, he was already asleep. Laying on her side, she felt Rics hand slip up form behind her. She loved it when he hugged her in his sleep. She closed her eyes and tried to fall asleep.

Crick.......Crack......... Alexis opened her eyes after hearing a sound. She glanced at the clock. It was only a minute from when she last closed her eyes. Crick again. It was probably the furnace making sounds at night, it wasnt rare in old houses. She couldnt fall asleep. Glancing at the still white wall in front of her, she tried to think about something else. The break-in was the only thing on her mind, who could have done it?

The still white wall reminded her of prison. She closed her eyes and opened them again. A shadow of a women with a knife appeared on the wall as the sounds of crick....crack.... approached her.
