When Courtney had plans and didn�t want Diego getting into any trouble, she gave Lois a little babysitting job. When in L&B, he met Brook Lynn and Lucas. Diego wanted to beat up Lucas but was stopped by Sonny and Carly. He was mesmerized my the mob.
When he found out that the famous Sonny Corinthos is Courtney�s brother. He asked Sonny, Jason, and Lorenzo for a job and was denied by all three.
When Diego heard that Sonny will set a bomb in Lorenzo�s warehouse, he told Lorenzo about it but Lorenzo didn�t care or believe him. He decided to check out the warehouse himself, until Brook Lynn interrupted and accidently locked him and herself in the warehouse with the bomb. When the bomb went off, Diego saved Lynn. Diego was arrested but he was soon released when it was cleared up that he had nothing to do with the bombing. He started feeling something for Brook Lynn and didn�t waste any time. He rushed into a relationship with her.
Tired of constantly being watch (by Courtney and Grace, his social worked) he decided to run away, and take Brook Lynn with him. He broke into Grace�s apartment to steal some money, but instead he found some letters from his sister. His sister, Maria, wrote that she is doing ok in Mexico and that she wants him to stay away from Port Charles. He decided to go to Mexico with Brook Lynn, but Georgie and Dillon both tagged along.
While in Mexico, he brock into Maria�s and her fiance�s house, and was coughed. Maria lied to her fianc� and said that she had never met Diego or the others, which led to all of them being arrested. While in prison, Maria came to visit him and told him that she didn�t want her fianc� to know about him until she was married to him. Diego and the other�s were released from prison after he promised Maria that he will not return to PC, he lied.
