She got pregnant from A.J. and gave birth to her first son Michael. She tried to convince that Jason was the father, but when A.J. found out that it�s really him, he wanted custody. Carly refused to let A.J. see Michael because of his alcohol problem, so she married Sonny and made him adopt Michael.
She tried to kill Elizabeth (I think it was Elizabeth, it might have been Gia.) After the actress playing Carly left the show, the new actress made the role into a stay at home mom. Carly had her share of problems with Sonny.
She saw Sonny kissing Brenda on the street, and she walked in on him in bed with Alexis. Then she got raped by Sonny�s � brother Ric, and she got pregnant. Once Ric found out about the pregnancy, he kidnaped Carly at Jason and Courtney�s wedding. (Do to the kidnaping, they didn�t get married.) Ric had Carly chained to a wall inside a panic room. When Rics wife found out and decided to leave him, he let Carly go. But she was re-kidnaped by Lorenzo Alcazar like 5 minutes later.
She was rescued by Jason, Ric, and Sonny. Lorenzo started stalking her. He wanted to drive Sonny nuts, so he hired a hooker and paid her to have a cosmetic surgery to look like Sonny�s dead wife Lilly. When Sonny found out that Lilly�s ghost is a person created by Lorenzo, he wanted to shoot him. Carly went into labor in an empty house in the middle of nowhere in the middle of a storm. Lorenzo came to help Carly deliver and Sonny came to shoot Lorenzo. The bullet get stuck in Carly�s head and she went into a coma.
In her coma she had dreams about Lorenzo instead of Sonny. When awake, she was extremely confused and started to develop felling�s for Lorenzo. She checked herself into an asylum and was drugged by Faith. Lorenzo rescued her. Sonny walked in on them making out, so he slept with Sam. Carly walked in on Sonny and Sam, so she slept with Lorenzo. She Then left Sonny and had a big custody fight with him. They won joint custody until Sonny's limo exploded, then Sonny gave her the kids.
Eventually, Carly found out that Lorenzo put the bomb in Sonny's limo. She then returned back to Sonny. While being with Sonny, she found out that Jason slept with Sonny's ex-mistress Sam and got her pregnant. Jason was supposed to marry Sam and Carly tried to stop it. Sam and Jason didn't marry which made Carly really happy. Soon after, she found out that Jason was not the father of Sam's baby, that Sonny was the real father. Carly soon forgave Sonny.
When Sam started demanding for Sonny's medical records for her baby, Carly realized that she wanted to find her father. She found out that John Durent, a federal procecuter, is her father. After a few conversations with John, Carly decided not to risk her family and she left without telling John that she is his daugter. John came to Port Charles because he found out the truth on his own.
