The Smithsonian
An Immortalized Day
September 11th

Our Past is something we cannot ignore
Whether its interesting or a bore
Only a few years ago they were hit
And our country fell into a pit
We write songs and poetry about them
But the families hearts still need to mend
Preserving the past is the futures key
The impacts strong when looking at debris
The torn up US flag can say much more
Than any of the news youve seen before
The voices of the victims will still ring
And the tears will roll while viewing the wing
My God they hit us, someone said that day
After the attack, ever one seemed to pray
For all of the survivors and the dead
The exhibits made so the tears will shed
For those who were lost, we will remember
So the futures view will not be a blur.
