Scientific aspects of Prayer in Islam

Prayer (Solah) is the second pillar of Islam and it is the most excellent way of worship, since it being a symbol of one�s Faith to The Most Sovereignty. Allah said �Serve Me and establish prayer for My remembrance�(Qur�an 20:14)

Prayer includes within itself the invocation of the God Most High and the declaration of His transcendence. It is the way to thanks Him and avoid from immorality or insolent conduct,purifies in spite of strengthens the body.It have been stated in Qur�an,�Prayer avoid man from evil�(45:29).Besides that,people did not realize the secrets hiding in salat,within its rules of body posture.Actually,there are scientific research shows that prayer give benefits to one�s health.For examples, prostration in Solat causes the oxygen to be driven away to the brain from the rest of the body.This means, the often you perfomed Solah, the more oxygen will absobed into your brain and increase its ability to think critically. No wonder, the previous Islamic scholars, and philosophers such as Avicenna, are able to dominate many different areas of study.

Solah is obedience in practice and it will be the first thing man would be asked about on The Day of Judgement. God advises that those worship Him will find peace and contentment.�And see assistance through patience and prayer�(Qur�an 2:45).Prayer also teaches simple rules of cleanliness.A Muslim performs prayer five times a day and they have to keep themselves clean and perform wudu(ablution) before they can offer prayer.�O you who believe,when you rise up for your prayer,wash your faces,and hands up to the elbows,and wipe your heads,and wash your feet up to the ankles.And if you are polluted,then wash yourselves.God desires not to place you in difficulty,but He wishes to purifies you.�(Qur�an 5:7) Prayer also is the best way of obtaining high moral qualities of perseverance,honesty and truthfulness.The Holy Qur�an always remind people to obtain help and strength from prayer in all their troubles.�Nay,seek God�s help with patience,perseverance and prayer.�(2:45) And again,�Man was created anxious. Fretful when evil befalleth him:grudging.Thus,worship the God(prayer)�(Qur�an 70:19-22) It developes one�s self-discipline,responsibility,and self-control.The strict regularity and discipline of prayer is unique for helping individuals to remove weaknesses despite character-building and strengthens the wall of the Islamic community with the cement of discipline,obedience and love.Futhermore,prayer trains oneself to be punctual according to the appointed time-phase prayer in five times a day:Subuh, Zuhr, Asr, Maghrib and �Isya�.�Establish regular prayer;for the prayer is enjoined on believers at sated times�(Qur�an 4:103).

It also makes people God-fearing and pious as well as trains themselves to go for Holy War(Jihad).Socially,it teaches fraternity,tolerance,unity and cooperation. It offers a simple way of mind concentration and provides close communion with God.According to Abu Hurairah,The Holy Messenger said :�Allah says that My servant becomes closer to me by performing those deeds which are obligatory on him.And he gets close to Me through constant observance of optional Salat until he becomes My beloved.When he becomes My beloved,I become his ears through which he hears;his eyes through which he sees,and his hand with which he holds,and his feet with which he walks.�This Hadith shows that all the powers of one�s body and mind come under the guidance of Allah and he attains very close relationship with his Lord. Moreover,prayer is a wonderful gift of God for people seeking of forgiveness and appeal for what they want.Prayer is such surest and quickest way to obtain happiness in life.
