| Poem #15 I Wonder As I Wither by Joseph Powell Chapbook: Mofo' Risin' p.12 I've heard it said That the heart wants What it wants- I don't remember Where I heard that, But I wonder When will someone's heart Want me? And I wonder How many times Must a heart Be broken Before there are Enough pieces That are Ready for love? And how many licks Does it take To get to The center Of my Tootsie Pop? And how many women Does it take To screw in My light bulb? And if I screamed aloud In a forest And there's no one there To hear me Do I still make a sound? Does it make a difference? I wonder. ------------------ Poem #16 Don't Say Goodbye, Just Leave by Joseph Powell Chapbook: Mofo' Risin' p.8 Available in print edition.
