Poem Review by Andrew C. Angus

Title of Poem: The Rose
Author: Randy L. Redmond
Rating: 5 olives

Randy's poem "The Rose"  is a very romantic poem about a flower and its importance in love.

This rose is one of a kind because this rose have  petals where  the poet's blood runs and a stem where the poet's thoughts flow. A very description of a rose.

The rose is tied to the inner being of the poet. The rose grew from the heart  and mind of the poet.

Randy gives human attributes to the rose - A rose that hides, a rose that cries.

Finally, a rose that appears and disappears depending on the intimate relationship between the male (the poet) and the female person in the poem.

The Rose

by
Randy L. Redmond
Source:
Tears rolling from the heartstrings, p.29

This rose grew from my heart
My blood runs through its petals
And if you hold it real close
It will try and love you back
But sometimes it even has to hide
And sometimes it will have cried
But it will come back
If you take care of me

As I kiss your nose
I give you this rose
For the help you lend
For the love you send
For the time you spend
From a heart that knows
That you need this rose.

This rose came from my mind
My thought flows up the stem
And if you think real, real hard
It can tell you if you're right
But sometimes it can't do that
And sometimes it will fall flat
But it does appear
When you need this rose.
