Up at camp I met a guy named Michael Burgett who was constantly writing poetry. I teasingly told him that he'd have to write me something sometime...and the next week I found this poem waiting for me taped to my room door.

Poem I Was Asked To Write by: Michael Burgett
Dedicated To: Angela Davis

This is a poem that I was asked to write-
Not an easy task for someone like me
So I agreed with one goal in sight-
To write a poem for all to see

So I thought about what I should put down-
Should I write about birds or a flower?
Or a river or a faraway town-
Or even about a love that rises up like a tower?

There were many options that I had-
There were many roads that I could have taken.
I could not decide which was good or bad-
But I know there is one idea that cant be forsaken.

Christ is at work in our lives everyday-
And brings together friends for bad times and great.
So I guess I found the one thing this poem can say-
Your friendship I cherish Did I say it too late?
