| We said no and yes in The same breath, denying and admitting Our guilt in a single statement. Freed and chained, choosing paradox Over paradise, testing The strength of patience, perhaps More than should be allowed. Giving in, holding back, Letting go, keeping in, Too logical for our own good. Near but far, Eager and afraid, Living in contradiction, hoping and Fearing it will work. Waiting to love But hating the wait, And in one prayer Cursing and thanking Fate. |
