Water Droplets
S. Cat Oct 07/03

As softly we fall from the heavily laden thunder clouds
To land upon the parched, cracked and withered dirt
Blessed nourishment for some new life, a tiny shoot
Thus allowing and enabling a little bit of a growth spurt

Then molten sun does shine, beating warm rays on me
As I lay here basking on the plant, turning me to vapour
I climb slowly back to the clouds from whence I came
Amongst the other droplets, I dance around and caper

Our cloud sails swiftly along the skies of azure blue
The wind at our backs, nudging us closer to the coast
Our frolic and fun turns wild, to a frenzied churning
Darkening thunder cloud trembles, we're at the post

And we're off, we dash in a mad fury, fall against the waves
Reckless tossing and turning, we're swept out to a vast sea
Strong currents push us, heading unerringly to the west
Passing, I nod my aquaintance to other water droplets like me

An atoll far off to my right, vast island chains off to my left
Lush palm trees and sand dunes that appear in my sight
Innumerable miles to travel in this endless cycle of my life
Waving to screeching seagulls as they swoop in their flight

Abiding on the wave tops, lifing to toast the rocks with spray
Merrily rippling along, eager to see new lands, new sights
Pausing here and there to kiss the windswept shores
Heady experiences I take with me, witnessed such delights

Deposited on this foreign shore, abandoned here you see
Golden sun then harkens to call me back to my cloud home
Uplifted, to once more frolic and dance in wonderous abandon
Pausing now and then to wonder, where next will this cloud roam?
