~Weep for the Soul in Death Dishonored ~~by Archion Darkfyre Jessi's notes - Well, made Chion sit down and write his story...even though he is my art muse...lol! So here's his story...kinda..heh... Author's notes - Can I kill her? I know her species is rare...however...she makes me draw... she made me write...what's a Shadowlord to do? Ahh, she's giving me...the look...well, here goes nothing... ~ * ^ * ~ Another day was dawning in the Shadowrealm, but only those that had lived there for a long time would ever recognize it as such. The dark, ever-present mounds of clouds and fog hid all but the feeblest rays of sunshine. The sky turned a dark, dark gray instead of the pitch black. Lightning, far brighter than the sun, constantly tore through the masses of clouds, briefly illuminating the twisted, barren wasteland. The ground was dead, littered with rocks, ash and black glass, formed from lightning-struck dirt. The only visible life was the rare twisted, stunted, leafless tree that struggled through it all pointlessly. Mutated creatures ran across the destroyed land, either hunting for some of the other hideous, twisted beasts or fleeing from them. This was destruction. This was something straight from a nightmare, or a tale of terror. This was hell. This was home. To Archion Darkfyre, the Shadowrealm was home. He sat on his large throne, slowly sipping red wine from a silver chalice, studded with rubies. The hall leading to his huge, vaulting throne room echoed eerily. The only light came from torches, held by statues of demons and monsters on either side of the hall or shining from the skulls that hung on the walls, skulls of dragons and demons and other nightmare denizens. A rich woven carpet stretched the length of the hall, but only added to the eerie, dark effect rather than lightening it. ~ Another day. ~ Chion mused, taking another sip of his wine. ~ Another pointless, useless day, spent on my throne, staring out a window that never lets in light at the destruction of my land. Even though it was necessary...it makes for a boring time of things. ~ A twisted screaming cry echoed from practically under Chion's window, but the Dark Lord never even flinched. ~ Sometimes life is so hollow. I imagine it may be better if I could feel... feel remorse for the land, feel pity for the wails of the dying...but how can I have pity when death seems like such a grand idea? Ah, yes...the gift of my immortality. Was it a curse, or a blessing? I still know not... ~ A faint smile quirked the God of Evil's lips when he saw the bulk of a swooping Shadowdragon. It's scales glistened, blacker than the blackest night, gleaming, polished Shadowstone. Shadowstone was a very rare, precious gem, prized above any other in the Other-realms. It was completely invulnerable, and blocked any and all magic or psionics. Collared with Shadowstone, a mage was completely unable to access any of their powers. However, the gem's invulnerability made in impossible to shape or utilize. Only Shadowstone could cleave a piece of Shadowstone. A piece of Asmalsistone, the blood-red twin of Shadowstone, could do the same, but that was even rarer. The Dragon's eyes glinted with a red, unholy light. It's huge, leathery black wings were folded as it swooped. It crashed into an unidentifiable creature, scales rattling slightly at the impact as its tail curled around and its wings arched out. The Shadowdragon raised it's magnificent horned head and let out a triumphant roar. Chion grinned and walked to his window. "Don't tell me you are planning on eating that monstrosity, Daeynturion!" Chion said with some amusement. The Shadowdragon's regal head swiveled and it narrowed it's eyes at the slim form of the human leaning on his windowsill. Chion was tall, about 6'1", and had a long blondish-brown ponytail and deep gray eyes. He wore a cloak of woven Shadowstone that he had created during his millennia of boredom. Daeynturion scowled and let out a low roar. He hated having to bow to a human. ~ Of course...everyone knows that Archion [1] is no human...he is Lord of the Shadowdragons. None messes with him; he's a god among gods, untouchable beneath his smooth, charming exterior. ~ Daeyn thought as he walked off of the corpse of his victim. His tail lashed behind him, crushing stones with ease as he passed. When he was at the base of Chion's castle, he spread his wings and flew to Chion's window, grabbed onto it, and shifted into his own human form before pulling himself into the window. "Of course I wasn't going to eat the wretched thing...I have better taste than THAT!" Daeyn said with a scowl, adjusting his black ponytail. "Of course you do. You ARE my brother." Chion said with some amusement as he walked back to his throne. "I don't know why you waste away your days in this dull castle, Chion! True, 'tis not much better outside, but at least you have the freedom to take flight and be in your natural form...I could never understand what ever possessed you to adopt this human form and to use it over your Dragon form." "I fit in my castle far better this way, dear brother." Chion said, offering Daeyn a glass of wine, which he accepted. "Besides, this body is much easier to utilize my magic with, and we both know that we need every ounce of magic we can get to fight off Aralycavi." Daeyn growled at the mention of Lycavi's name. "I don't know WHY you show her the respect of having a title! [2] She may be my dam, but I bear that bitch absolutely no love!" "Nor do I, Daeyn, nor do I." Chion said as he sat on his throne with a sigh. "If you did bear her any love, I would be forced to kill you, my brother or no. She doesn't need any more help...she has Imati [3] and his Bloodsbane Daemons. [4] We, however, have the combined force of nine universes versus her one and are getting our collective asses stomped into the ground. We haven't even came close to touching Imati, and we will never get to Lycavi if we can't get past him." Daeyn nodded in solemn agreement. "'Tis a sad time indeed when we lose to thirteen demons, a Demonlord, and a Demonqueen. However, I cannot stay to chat. I have business elsewhere in the Multiverse, and I must depart. Fare thee well, Chion." Daeyn said as he dived out the window and took his dragon form back, soaring off into the skies. "Sad times..." Chion said softly, staring into his wine as he swirled it in his chalice. ~ My whole wretched existence has been 'sad times'... ~ *...kneeling before Lycavi on her throne, fear and shame and self-loathing ripping through his being at the sight of this dark queen, his mother....biting back a cry of pain as she hurled a bolt of magic into him, searing his soul and making him want to writhe in anguish....barely seeing as she motioned for the Fallen Angel next to her throne to carry him off...managing a slightly apologetic look to the braided angel [5] who had no choice but to carry him off and give him to Lycavi's demons...screaming inside as they beat, abused, raped him, but never, never screaming openly...* Chion shuddered at the memories. ~ Ah, but all that was millennia ago...she hasn't called her demons in to have their fun with me in ages...possibly because she's too busy, possibly because she simply has more important things to do, not likely because she decided I'm not such a bad son after all... ~ Chion smirked bitterly. ~ Ah, hells, it didn't matter the last few times she did it, she probably decided she needed some new trick. I don't feel it anymore. ~ Chion scowled and set down his chalice, grabbing a dagger from his boot and drawing the razor-sharp blade along the vein in his arm. He watched with cool, clinical detachment as the blood ran from his wound, which was rapidly sealing itself. ~ Not a thing...I didn't feel a damned thing at all. Even the feeling of pain does not grant me release from this sensory, emotional death. Must be the mark of the abused...complete detachment from pain. ~ Here Chion snorted derisively. ~ Yeah, right. Even if my body cannot die...the rest of me died long ago. Weep for the soul in death dishonored, for I have no tears to weep for myself...~ ~ Owari ~ Author's notes - Ah...I understand now, Gi, what you meant about writing in third person about yourself... Jessi's notes - Eh, guess that's it for that. Might be more to this eventually. Most of my muses' lives tie together pretty well. Just thought I'd send out some little bit for Chion. Luv yas! ~Jessi ~ Footnotes ~ [1] - Archion ... that's his name. His birth name was 'Chion', which translates to 'evil' in his tongue. 'Ar' is the abbreviation for 'Ashir', which is a title reserved for the highest of gods or most powerful of lords. Thus, 'Archion' translates out to "God of Evil" [2] - 'Ara' is the abbreviation of 'Ashiryae', which is the feminine form of 'Ashir.' [3] - Imati....I'll do his story next, or after Kas'Ralin's, but either way, I'll do it soon. [4] - The Bloodsbane Daemons were 13 demons created by Imati for Lycavi from artifacts known a s the Bloodsbane Crystals. There were 13 crystals, one for each major power. (fire, water, earth, air, life, death, order, chaos, light, shadow, ice, poison, and time.) Each Daemon bears the crystal in it's forehead. Their eyes are pupiless, one solid color that matches their hair and the crystal they bear. More on these Daemons will be included in Imati's story. [5] - Braided angels...guess who that would be??...
