KillerTreads: im a christian.... i like manson too
KillerTreads: how r u?
Atheist142: hehehe, oooh, that's a rareity! Actually, no, it's not, most of
the mansonites I know are Christian
Atheist142: I am peachy, thanks
KillerTreads: yeah.. my bud and roomy is an athiest and mansonite
Atheist142: cool cool
Atheist142: i think.....
KillerTreads: so..where r ya from?
Atheist142: South Park, PA
Atheist142: Please no Kenny cracks...
KillerTreads: lol
Atheist142: where is you from?
KillerTreads: they r from sp, co
KillerTreads: longview,tx
Atheist142: yes, I know, I still get the same old jokes... blah
Atheist142: texas...that's far away
Atheist142: :-)
KillerTreads: im down here with all the goddam southern baptist..help me
Atheist142: how can you stand it?
Atheist142: :-)
Atheist142: wait, I thought you said you were christian?
Atheist142: :-?
KillerTreads: damn..they come knockin at your door
KillerTreads: im christian.. im non-denomination
KillerTreads: im definitly not baptist
Atheist142: ah, soy!
Atheist142: I have a Mormon froend who is constantly trying to convert
me...
Atheist142: dont work, but the attempt is amusing!
KillerTreads: mormon is a damn cult
KillerTreads: worshippers of moses
Atheist142: Well, a cult is just the beginning stage of a religion...
Atheist142: scary to think that Christianity was once a cult...
KillerTreads: a religion..yes
KillerTreads: not really
Atheist142: well, it was centralized around one figure--Christ--and
wasn't very large to begin with in Rome
Atheist142: by all logistical definitions it was once a cult, but is now a
world religion
Atheist142: I never said it was wrong :-)
KillerTreads: yes..i guess...if ya go by defin.
Atheist142: eh, what was happened in the past, what is is now, so that's
always the more important, no?
KillerTreads: knowing your future is good'
Atheist142: well, that's kind of impossible, unfortunately
KillerTreads: is your life going good?
Atheist142: eh, it be pretty good. could be better, but pretty good is...
well... pretty good, I suppose :-)
KillerTreads: so..um... what is the reasons you dont believe there is a
God?
Atheist142: I have no reason to believe there is a god, so I don't.
KillerTreads: creation?
Atheist142: (was waiting for the inevitable question :-))
KillerTreads: how were we?
Atheist142: we weren't. I personally do the whole evolution thing.
KillerTreads: so was the first human asexual?
KillerTreads: or did two of separate sex evolve in the same life time?
Atheist142: the first human (Homo Sapiens) no, wasn't asexual, that's
not exactly in the description of humans...
Atheist142: wait, same lifetime? I'm confused.
KillerTreads: well..for them to meet.. there would have to be a male and
female..within each others life period
KillerTreads: to produce offspring
Atheist142: well, that's the thing, evolution is kind of a gradual thing, so
there is no one generation where you can say "okay! Here is where the others end
and humans begin!" Which makes it really fun to try and classify intermediate
stages.
KillerTreads: hmm.. but it doesnt have to be human.. it could be an
earlier stage of life...still it had to reproduce
KillerTreads: that still does not explain the complex design of every living and
nonliving thing in the universe
Atheist142: what's so complex about a sponge?
Atheist142: or a water droplet?
KillerTreads: the complex design..and not to mention symbiosis of every living
thing
Atheist142: sponges aren't really all that complex, just a bunch of
cells... not even tissues.
KillerTreads: we need water and air, and food to survive...and yet this planet
has all needs
KillerTreads: not to mention the complexity of thought alone
Atheist142: yes, and all evidence points to that we evolved to fit this
envorinment.
Atheist142: which is why it took, what, 6 billion years to get to humans?
Atheist142: :-)
KillerTreads: what happen to all the waste
Atheist142: what waste?
KillerTreads: the encredible amount of evolutions that took place..and died
out because they didnt fit the environment
Atheist142: what about them?
KillerTreads: i cant find any remains of these creatures
Atheist142: um...I've seen fossils.
KillerTreads: of what?
Atheist142: trilobytes, dinosaurs, extinct plants, n stuff
Atheist142: they're dead
KillerTreads: mmmm...true..but those r dinosaurs
Atheist142: yes, and they stopped fitting their environment so they died
KillerTreads: im talking of the ones from which we came
KillerTreads: where r the fish with arms..lol..thats exaggerating
Atheist142: well, they were probably decomposed
Atheist142: and I've seen the animals that were between mammals and
dolphins before
KillerTreads: the earth has been destroyed 3 times
KillerTreads: the earth is 6 billion yrs old
Atheist142: I think there were actually 6 mass extinctions...but I can't
tell you exactly when :-). Bad with dates, especially in the billions of years
KillerTreads: ok..maybe i meant 6..i forget..but its in the bible
Atheist142: really?
Atheist142: where?
KillerTreads: angelic beings walked with dinosaurs
Atheist142: really? where? can you give me a Bible chapter or a
verse?
KillerTreads: well..in job
Atheist142: hang on a sec
KillerTreads: he talks of the leviathon and the buhemith
Atheist142: um...there are no fossils of those and were I think Roman
mythical beasts...
KillerTreads: the buhemith had a tail like that of a cedar tree
Atheist142: yes... in Roman mythology they talk a lot of those...
KillerTreads: buhemith was a bontosaurus
Atheist142: if that's how you like to interpret it...
KillerTreads: what is the smallest partical?
Atheist142: I think a quark?
Atheist142: a gluon?
Atheist142: not sure...
KillerTreads: what is it made of?
KillerTreads: and then..so on keep asking that
KillerTreads: infinity
KillerTreads: is matter reality
Atheist142: I'm pretty sure matter is reality.
KillerTreads: what is reality?
KillerTreads: does it matter
Atheist142: reality is anything that will still exist even if I don't believe
in it :-)
Atheist142: or don't see it or hear it or sense it
KillerTreads: like a toothache
Atheist142: what about a toothache?
KillerTreads: you can say you have a toothache..but i can feel, touch, taste,
etcc..... so its not real
KillerTreads: i cant determine it with my sences
Atheist142: well, if you think that my toothache isn't real, then you can
think that... but if I can sense it or its effects, then I consider something to be real
enough...
KillerTreads: is thought real
KillerTreads: you cant see hear touch taste smell or hear it
Atheist142: I'd like to think so--I can sense it.
Atheist142: sometimes I think I'm just a figment of my imagination...
Atheist142: :-)
Atheist142: is all of this leading somewhere?
KillerTreads: still doesnt really answer me y u dont believe in God
Atheist142: I don't have a reason to believe in any god, so I don't
believe.
KillerTreads: what parts confuse you in his word..for his word is very proven
Atheist142: Really, what word, and how is it proven?
KillerTreads: through historical evidence
Atheist142: if you're going to claim that, can you tell me what studies
werre done, or what evidence was given for what Bible verses?
KillerTreads signed on at 3:56:01 AM.
KillerTreads: at one time the entire earth was a paradise......this is proven fact
beyond a doubt
Atheist142: where when and how was it proven?
KillerTreads: palm trees in the ice at the poles r proof
KillerTreads: the firmanent talked of in the bible..was a layer of water
Atheist142: where when and how did they find palm trees at the poles?
KillerTreads: its 100%fact
KillerTreads: look it up
Atheist142: can you name a study so I can look it up?
KillerTreads: anyways..a layer of water would of blocked out the cold
Atheist142: tankys :-)
KillerTreads: thats the firmanent described in genesis
Atheist142: ummmm...
KillerTreads: the one he made to separate the waters..
Atheist142: this doesn't cite one actual scientist
Atheist142: it makes claims but doesn't back them up.
KillerTreads: and he made it fall...that was the flood
Atheist142: and a "firmament" was an alternate translation for a "lid"
KillerTreads: but its not a christian site
Atheist142: a literal interpretation of that stated that the earth was an
enclosed space with a lid, the sky was water and so were the seas, and when it
rained, that was God opening a window in the "firmament" which is mentioned in
the Noah's ark story somewhere...
Atheist142: but you are free to make any interpretation on that you
wish, really...
KillerTreads: i cant find and scientific documents
Atheist142: well, yes, I'm agreeing that the poles were once tropic, but
no humans were alive then...
KillerTreads: mmm..lol
Atheist142: It wasn't a "paradise" with adam and eve and all of the
animals
Atheist142: at least not that I know of...
KillerTreads: i mean tropical
KillerTreads: paradise was a wrong word
Atheist142: Ah, soy
Atheist142: stupid misunderstanding :-P
Atheist142: sorry
KillerTreads: the bible talks of natural disasters
KillerTreads: and earthquakes and disasters in great numbers
Atheist142: yes, but this is kind of probable that earthquakes would
happen...this is no big surprise...
KillerTreads: i saw a chart on number of earthquakes from 1900-1999
Atheist142: and...?
KillerTreads: 1n 1900 there was like 5 or so..world wide
Atheist142: 5 a year...that's a lot over time
KillerTreads: and the number kept going up
KillerTreads: every yr
Atheist142: well, also the methods of detection were getting better
Atheist142: before they didn't have the technology to detect the tiny
tiny tremors that we do now
KillerTreads: in 1995 there was im guessing...100,000 of them
KillerTreads: these were all big
Atheist142: why aren't they on the news?
Atheist142: I never knew about these constant earthquakes?
Atheist142: that had to be what, at least 100 a day, with only 365 days a
year!
KillerTreads: there are alot on the news
Atheist142: not that much!
Atheist142: I watched the news today, no earthquake.
KillerTreads: a few years back..we had a big one between tx and ok
Atheist142: yes, that was one...a few years back.
KillerTreads: and there is no fault line there
Atheist142: you're talking about at least 150 + a day!
KillerTreads: earthquakes in divers places
Atheist142: that's ludicrous!
KillerTreads: not to mention the tornado chart
KillerTreads: i may be getting the chart confused.. it was years ago i saw it on
discovery channel
KillerTreads: it may be 100000 tornadoes
KillerTreads: i know both charts were a giant increase
Atheist142: WHOA, that's about 200 a day!!!!
Atheist142: I don't think you're telling the truth.
Atheist142: unless you're counting everything that might have been a
tornado that ever happened...
KillerTreads: i am guessing..but i know it was a high #
Atheist142: is this getting to a point? :-)
KillerTreads: the numbers are rising..any1 can see that
KillerTreads: w/out a chart
Atheist142: um...no
Atheist142: I can't.
Atheist142: not with you "guessing" and giving me completely
unrealistic figures.
KillerTreads: i remember hardly ever being a tornado round here...when i
was a kid
KillerTreads: then in 1997 we had five in 1 day
KillerTreads: in longview
Atheist142: in one big storm where tornadoes are present many can
happen at once...if it's only one storm, it shouldn't count as five seperate
occasions, unless the storm formed, then completely blew over, then formed again
from completely different patterns, etc.
Atheist142: it's just chance
KillerTreads: 3 at once then 2 at once
KillerTreads: but we have em every yr
Atheist142: well, texas is part of the tornado belt you know...
Atheist142: that might play a part of it...
KillerTreads: yep
Atheist142: they do have quite a few there compared to other places
Atheist142: I'm not seeing how this is relevant
KillerTreads: but it wasnt this bad till recently
Atheist142: okay, and even if your stories were true, this proves...
KillerTreads: how old r u?
Atheist142: why does it matter?
KillerTreads: the bible has foretold this happening near the end times
