| This session deals with faculty negotiations for library instruction. When do you give in and when do you stand firm? How much guidance can you give without giving offense? And how can you make sure the students get what they really need in a given situation? After some lecture and discussion, you will get a chance to practice these negotiations in a small group setting by looking at some real requests. | ||

| This session will focus on the process of writing student-centered objectives for learning. Articulating concrete, purposeful objectives provides a framework for selecting teaching strategies and measuring outcomes. The goal of this session is to learn how to write a detailed lesson plan for a bibliographic instruction session. The attendee will: be able to identify the parts of the lesson plan, establish a concrete goal, specific objectives, and accompanying procedures, learning activities, and assessment procedures. This session will include a hands-on exercise that will culminate in the participants writing a sample lesson plan for a bibliographic instruction class. |

| This session will focus on timesaving tips for managing your instructional handouts and presentation materials. The discussion will include the development of reusable forms, handouts and presentation materials that can be employed in many classes, and the use of templates for easy adaptation of existing materials for new purposes. Both printed and digital formats will be considered, and there will be opportunities for brainstorming and sharing ideas. | ||
