The Mu Rho Chapter of Zeta Phi Beta Sorority, Inc. of Coastal Carolina University was chartered at Clafin University in Orangeburg, SC on October 28, 2000. The founding line was composed of siz zealous ladies who believed it was time for a new sorority on campus. The members of the founding line are Aliceia Lyles, Uricka McNeal, Chainti Scarborough, Tammy James, Sandra Henson, and Katheryn Bankhead. The name of the founding line was the "Blu Revolution." A banquet was held on November 30, 2000 in honor of the first chapter of Zetas to the campus and to offer support. The birth of the Mu Rho Chapter would bot be possible without the diligent work of the advisor Soror Mollie Bethea-Floyd, the sponsoring graduate chapter, Mu Kappa Zeta, and some special people at Coastal Carolina University.
The very first Zeta's on campus presented themselves to the entire campus and community on Friday, February 2, 2001. Many people came to support the Blu Revolution. The chapter quickly became involved on campus. The Mu Rho chapter became the first organization to become partners with the Women's Advocacy Center. Mu Rho's presence was undeniable after winning first place at Coastal's 2001 Homecoming Stepshow. However, the most honorable event this "newborn" chapter participated in was a welcoming banquet held for the, Soror Dr. Barbara West Carpenter, International Grand Basileus of Zeta Phi Beta Sorority, Inc. It was an event the founders will cherish for the rest of their lives.
In the spring of 2001, the Mu Rho Chapter chartered it first line, "D'Aftermath". The members of the first line were Jackalin White, Natasha Rudolph, and Hawanya Terry. Adrian Bull joined the Mu Rho Chapter in the summer of 2001. During the fall of 2001, the chapter chartered it's second line "Melodies of Blue" . The members were Erica Quick, Stephanie Gordon, and Fearceia Rose. Continuing with tradition the Mu Rho Chapter chartered its third line during the spring of 2002,"Camouflages of Blu". The members where Myka Blu, Renee Rouse, and Ashley Parker.
The Mu Rho chapter continues to strive for excellence and to represent scholarship, service, sisterly love, and finerwomanhood.
