| Salvatore Maranzano broke away from Joe "The Boss" Masseria and started his own family in 1930. Salvatore made a secret alliance with a few of Masseria's Lieutenants, Lucky Luciano, Carlo Gambino, Vito Genovese and Albert Anastasia and had Joe Masseria murdered in Scarpato's Restaurant in Coney Island. Salvatore then declared himself Capo Di Tutti Capi (The Boss of Bosses). This title did not sit well with Luciano, Gambino, Genovese and Anastasia. The four planned his death and ordered his murder at his real estate office located in 230 Park Avenue. |
