Grading Policy
Rules Show integrity. Be honest, gracious, loyal, and fair. Don't lie, cheat, steal, or manipulate. Take Responisibility for yourself and your actions. Make no excuses. Show Respect for yourself, the teacher, other students, and school property. Work hard, be on time, and be prepared for class.
Grades-Late Work-Extra Credit-Absences-Retests-Cheating Daily grades count once, quizzes twice, and tests for times. Work is due at the beginning of the period or it is late. Work turned in one day late loses 30 points automatically. Two days late loses 40 points automatically. Three days late loses 50 points automatically- Work is not expected after three days. -Extenuating circumstances for late work will be considered at the teacher's discretion. The teacher offers extra credit opportunities regularly or students may get teacher approval for an idea of their own. Extra credit is not available to any student with zeros. Students must assume the responsibility for obtaining and completing work missed due to absence. If you are absent when work is assigned you will have 5 days after your return to complete it. If you are absent on the day a long-term project is assigned it is due on the assigned due date. If you are absent the day an assignment is due then it is due the day you return. Students will receive only one copy of each assignment and handout. Missed assignments and handouts for each day will have your name on it in the file box by period. You may correct your test if you score below a 70. The highest grade you can score on the correction is a 70. You must correct your test within 5 days of the original test. It is the student's responisibility to make arrangements to correct a test. Cheating results in a zero grade. Plagiarism and copying other people's work is cheating. Yes, even on daily assignments!
Other General Requirements Assignments must be completed in pencil, blue, or black ink. Assignments turned in without names on them will not be graded. You are required to keep everything you do in this class for the entire year. You may keep your notebook in my room. I will check notebooks after each unit for a daily grade. When you enter class sit in your assigned seat and begin work immediately on the warm up. Come to class prepared with your own supplies. The teacher will not furnish supplies except for class projects. Furnished supplies are for schoolwork only! Remain in your seat when the bell rings. I dismiss you not the bell. You must have your Murchison "Seven Habits" Agenda to get a pass to leave class. Inappropriate class behavior will result in a call to your parents. Continued problems will be referred to the office. Talking out of turn, disrupting class, being out of your seat, tardies, and coming to class without your materials are examples of inappropriate behavior.
