I am not a fan of Bond (James Bond). In fact I never saw any Bond movies before yesterday. However, as I mentioned, since I am stuck in Geneva I made a it a point to be happy and thus ended up in balexert watching Casino Royale, latest Bond Movie.

I had listened to in World Radio Geneva and I was told time and again this is the Best Bond movies, ever. So I thought it must be something exciting as Bond movies are supposed to be brilliant with unbelievable stunts and stunning heroines.

Well Casino Royale has both. There is stunts from the very start and the movie ends with a shooting. All range of weapons are used except nuclear bombs. Bond alone destroys an entire pose of security men at the embassy.

Where it falls down is in developing a storyline. There are the leads and hints of the story coming from all angles, starting from terrorism financing to stockmarket manipulation. The sum mentioned is paltry 100 millions though the plans are audacios and I am not sure in todays world the British minister should deploy her best secret agent pursuing a 100 million lead !

As the story end, one is still hoping some story will evolve but sorry, it is curtains.

I had yet one more disappointment. I came back and checked the internet to see if there was anybody else who shared my opinion. Well there was none, everybody was talking about brilliant, wonderful, best ever and so on. The fact that there is no story in the end is being presented as "in the end the the audience is left craving for more". How true, in the end I was really left craving for a story !!
