We met in college and had our first date on October 6, 1980. By Christmas Eve that year we were engaged. After such a quick engagement we waited until July 22, 1982 to be married.
The wedding was wonderful. My dress was handmade by a friend, the flowers were done in silk by my Grandmother and I. The church decorated by us and the food for afterwards was made by my family. My Grandmother even made our Wedding Cake. We had yellow roses and daisy as our flowers....colors were white, yellow and light blue.
We went to Boone, North Carolina (in the mountains) for our honeymoon and stayed in a pickup truck camper. It was so peaceful and we could be alone.
Since we married we have had six children and lost 4 to heaven. We have depended on each other and our faith in God to keep our marriage going. I won't say we never had a bad day...but we kept fighting and still do to be happy.
