Gail E Francis

Gail Francis has been with the park district since June of 1970. Gail was raised in a farm family in Milledgeville. She received her AA degree from Sauk Valley College in 1968 and her BS degree from Western Illinois University in March of 1971. Gail was employed along with her friend Sherri Baughman by the park district for the first summer of the park district’s existence. She returned after graduating from WIU and was hired as the park district’s first Director of Parks and Recreation and later also assigned the position of Executive Secretary. She is proud to be associated with the district since it’s infancy. She has been instrumental in the programming, land acquisition, park design, administrative management and financial operation of park district.

She is now a homeowner in Milledgeville. She enjoys traveling, photography, hiking, theatre and spending time with her friends. She has 1 only child, which is a 16-year-old black Himalayan cat. If you don’t agree that he is a person…Just ask him!!
