Etc.

Here’s a little space we set aside for current news, thank-you’s, etc.

The park district is excited to announce that if the weather is willing and we find a way to fill it with water, we will have an ice skating rink in town this winter. We are especially pleased to announce that two families made donations that help defray the costs.

We take our hats off and kindly thank Lyle & Sandy Bushman who donated one truck load of lime and

Shawn & Kim Von Holten who donated the grading and shaping of the rink.

We were fortunate enough to find 3 men who have a great sense of civic pride. They also just want to see our kids have a great time. The magic of ice would not have been possible without their generosity and persistence. Those 3 men are Fire Chief Kevin Folk, Assistant Fire Chief Dave Folk and firefighter Nathan Hartman. The weather cooperated for one week in December. The rink was filled, froze and enjoyed by all. One week later the temperatures rose to a balmy 50 degrees and destroyed the dreams of figure eights. Just when we thought all was lost…Kevin, Dave & Nate… as they do so often, came to the rescue again.

We can’t thank them enough, but we will try……Thank You!

The rink is open for a second time as of January 17th 2003.

Here is a picture of the man with the magic.
