West Kalimantan povincial
capital, known as the city on the Equator, is bustling economic hub as
well as the centre of administration of the province.
The city is situated on the
equator line, at the north of the Kapuas
River and
Landak.
Pontianak has some tourism
attraction.
The city has 2 large girder
bridges spanning in the river, a massive sport stadium and numerous canals

The Jami' Mosque of Sultan Abdurrachman Alqadri
In Bugis Dalam is the historicalmosquewas
built in 1771 by Sultan Syarief Abdurrachman.
The mosque is still its white-walled
spendor has a multitiered roof like that of a Balinese temple.
Is twostories
building and built entirely of belian wood. A sturdy main
entrance in the shape of
Portuguese is found at the
front of the palace against possible enemy attact, and for the purpose
a cannon was also installed.
Is located in Jalan Achmad Yani, it is beautiful building in modern design with the ornamental characteristics of West Kalimantan. The museum's colection include relics from the time of the first arrival of Islam in the region.
