SPECIAL INFORMATION TO PARENTS

PARENT RESPONSIBILITY

The success of Little Athletics at Munno Para depends greatly on parent participation.  Each competition day the track and field needs setting up.  We have rostered parents for this duty according to children’s age groups.

Please see the program for Duty Roster.

When on duty please report to Equipment Officer half an hour before scheduled time for competition.

During competition at least 30 officials and 20 chaperones are required to cover all events, or to supervise age groups.  Duties could be as minor as raking a pit, but every job is necessary so the competitions can run smoothly.

Even when we compete away at other locations, our centre parents are still expected to assist with the running of the competition.

The athletes like to see their parents participating and you will get a better appreciation of your child’s accomplishments.

SO PLEASE DON’T LET YOUR CHILDREN DOWN!!!

OFFICIALS AND/OR COACHES COURSES

The Association runs Officials and Coaching Courses from time to time in your local area.  If you are interested in taking part in any of the courses offered please do not hesitate to speak with Bryon or Sue.

There is only one request we ask of parents.

It is preferred that only those officiating or chaperoning be present on the competition field.

For those wishing to become more involved behind the scenes, the centre committee would welcome your assistance in organising and improving the facilities for your children.  The committee meets once a month.  Any parents interested are welcome to attend.

COACHING SESSIONS

Coaching is important to build the skills and disciplines required to achieve the athletes goals.  This year M.P.L.A.C. will be holding coaching sessions on  Tuesdays and Wednesdays at 430.pm. Warm ups will commence at 4.15pm.  This will enable all athletes the opportunity to attend and participate.

While training is not compulsory, it is recommended for all age groups (including Tiny Tots), as it will assist in skill development.
