Synergy, or Candles lit for the dead
by munky
In just one moment you might see
For once in this uncertain life
You are innocent.
Within newborn snow lies
the purity of your soul.
Fame is fleeting
Riches are nothing more than flashes in the mud
Stand up, unafraid to believe;
Faith will protect your wondrous heart
with the shelter of its' tiny naked palm.
Choices made
Paths paved
Decisions braved,
They will all give you the inner strength that others have craved
then turn to ash and blow away
Leaving white to return from where it first came.
So Lady Death, be not proudly fickle
Nor fair indeed.
For you are a jagged pill to swallow
And yet sweet release for the weary who ask for you by name
In judgement's final eye,
We are all of us innocent
When stopped cold in that last halting breath.
