Karl grew up most of his life in the sunny state of California with his mother, stepfather, and two stepsisters. He never sees his father and is happier that way. He attended FDR High School in Sacramento where he graduated in 1997 in the top 15% of his class. His favorite hobbies include reading, writing short stories, singing, dancing, and acting.

Karl is gay and is quite open about it. He now lives in Chicago where he is attending the University of Illinois. He has made some very close friends and to them he has revealed his true nature. However, to the rest of the world, he is very shy and withdrawn.
