| Les Miserables, not the musical, not the play, not the script; the book! Jean Valjean or rather Jean Voila Jean, Monsieur Madeline, Monsieur the Mayor, or Urbain Fauber is the main character, how confusing!?! This convict is free of the galleys and is now into the real world after 19 years for stealing a loaf of bread and trying to escape 5 times. He takes refuge in a bishops house, and is given a choice to live the right way or the wrong way. For a while Jean Valjean chooses the wrong way and steals the bishops silver leaves and is brought back only to be released again by mercy of the bishop. On his way out he steals from a little boy and is deeply disheartened by his grief. He could no longer be Jean Valjean. Monsieur Madeline then appears, a wealthy man who made his way in industry, but it is not Monsieur Madeline, it is Jean Valjean as Javert the officer from the galleys soon discovers. Monsier Madeline(Jean) then promises to take care of Fantine's daughter, Cosette. He escapes from Javert and lives happily for a while until he is discovered again, dude this is only half way through the book or 3 books into this 5 book, book?!? and I have 1 and 1/2 days til school starts. I hate summer reading! :( |

I wish, but I could be a billionaire if I made my own store on the internet so why not?
