A FAREWELL TO BRYNNA

April 1990 - July 2001

Hop
Skip and
A jump. Dear
Brynna, limping
You

Hobble
Past my
Field of view
Once you
Were

Lithe
And graceful
Poetry in motion
True poise
Personified

Alas
Old girl
Maturity and frailty
Come to
Most

Old
Bodies host
The aches and
Pains age
Creates

We
Must measure
Each step now
More prudently
Crones

Are we
Who each
Brought the other
So much
Loyalty

All
I can
Do for your
Final hours
Is
Choose
To spare
You further pain
As malignancy
Devours

Your
Bones, it
Is I who
must decide.
To

Help
You on
Your way to
The other
Side

Where
Pain will
Be forgotten, there
To abide
And

Wait
For me
Patiently, for Ill
One day
Surely
........................................Arrive
