I have known that I wanted to paint since a very early age. And I find that drawing, painting, creating, in order to preserve a small part of the beauty that can be found all around us is as necessary to me as breathing.
*****
I work from the model or on location as often as possible which is less and less as I grow older. At present my most frequent models are my four, "rescued," ex-racing Greyhounds. The remaining time I work in my well-equipped studio. I have received many ribbons, medals and several cash awards at local and international levels, including Best of Show, and several one-person shows. Recently, the entry fees to shows have increased so drastically that I no longer can afford to enter.
*****
My work is represented in collections worldwide (Canada, the U.S., Japan, Australia, France, England, Belgium, Israel, Singapore and more) including the executive offices of the California State University at Long Beach. I have taught art to children at risk through the Long Beach Children's Museum and graduated from the Coastline College Fine Arts Program.
