Remebering the Greats

The Fellowship of the Griffon has gone through many changes throughout the years on Norrath. Only a handful of the Fellowship still remembers the Griffons of the past. As the Griffon Hall stands in the basking sunlight, small beams shine through stained glass windows inside the hall. The large round table that stands in the middle of the halls main chamber is etched with the names of the remembered. Each one embossed with the magic of mages so the names never fade. Many Griffons visit the halls to receive orders on raids and Fellowship meetings, and a few Griffons shed a tear of the lost. Many see the others throughout their travels in Norrath finding them well and grateful to be remembered. Some left bitterly but all true hearts of the Fellowship run deep and could never be unforgiven. The light starts the dim as the day presides in the evening. The hall fills with talking griffons of the past. Their voices filling the halls as they talk about battles and prizes that were won in Lottos with other groups. Trips to the Planes and deep within dungeons. The time of the Fellowship endured so long that the voices calmed over the years have brought peace to the new Griffons that walk and plan on that round table. Many walk around the walls seeing the plats of old armor that hang form fallen Griffons. With staffs and weapons of casters long gone, plaques of names of foes and beasts cover the moss-covered walls. Griffons view these names, hundreds of names of Griffons that have been permanently set in stone on the floors. Some names cant be read but remain still in the Halls. Aristobulos walks these halls often and reads the names in a whisper, Winamin, Dikur, Genander paladins. Zakzabam, Kamesan, Dianar druids. He sheds a tear. Walking more slowly with his heavy heart. Taar, Khaless, Conk, and Rensar such great clerics He walks back to the round table, the light dimming outside. He grabs a thick candle and leans over to read the names etched in to the table, Elanna, Treesong, Sereus, Zaknafin, Vamce, some many names. Dags walks in to the great hall and sees Aristo with candle in hand leaning over reading the names he too has read aloud. He walks over to Aristo, whats up my old friend? Remembering our fellow brethren. Dags spoke, Nural, Sabrenos, Sabr, and Mykell The names are many, and the two old friends circle the table each on either side. Calven Aristo says, Dags replies, Corellon Fenarn, Ganelon Sabrenos, Cilwen The meet at the end of the names. They say together Zalzatopy, Krall. These names are Griffons of the past and will always be remember as greats. Aristo replaces the candle and walks with Dags to the door. They take a look backing the Griffon hall and sigh. They look at each other and agree that many more years will come and go for the Fellowship. And there will be more names added to the Greats. They close the doors till the next time the Griffon Hall is visited. The sun goes down and the halls voices are silenced.
