---CHICKA POW---
Hey hey buddies! Sara! Jane here, just got home from the 1st Mundelein RFL show! ::dances a jig:: der.. yeah. Woo.

---THE SHOW---
So for those of you who couldn't make it to our first show ever, hey, I thought it was pretty good. One Percent, The Dog & Everything, Full Range, Konami Code, and Above Suspicion played quite awesome-ly (if I may). And we raised a "good sized wad" to benefit Rock For Life!!! WHICH IS SO AWESOME!! Thanks to whoever came out to support us & the bands, and thanks to those of you who were "there in spirit"? I think? Uh.. yeah!

What some people thought about the show:
"Mundelein Chapter of Rock For Life put on a fantastic show with some really kick butt bands" -Tine C., Gray Cat Zine
"That show was most definitely worth my while! Not only did I get to see some really awesome bands, but I won the raffle to boot! Hoo Haa! Free shirt! Keep up the good work. I'm looking forward to having my band play a show for you guys soon! " - Robby K., The Amazing Impeccables
"I had fun...met some boys out of it...and the bands were great!" - Cat O., Boy Crazy Freshman
"I just can't do it, captain. I don't have the power! " - Bagel K., Umm?
"it was really cool getting to tell people about our organization who had never heard about us before and getting positive responses " -Maggie N., Mundelein Rock For Life

---GRAY CAT ZINE---
As you may or may not have known, Gray Cat Zine was at the show and reviewed it and interviewed some RFL kiddos~ Tine from GCZ has put up a review and pics from the show on the site, you can visit it here ( http://www.geocities.com/graycatzine ). i'll probably gank some pics for the MRFL site soon, but if you want to look at it all RIGHT NOW then go there. I think she's still updating it though. ::shrug::

---POGS---
If you are a parent of kid and the milkcap of Pog craze hasn't hit your household, just wait a minutes--it will. Milkcaps are collectibles--andthey're also used in games that are now taking off among kids nationwide. And as they continue to grow in popularity and intensity, kids everywhere want to know more about them.
The phenomenon started in Hawaii, where kids began to collect milkcaps and play a game with them which is similar to shooting marbles. (The name Pog is an acronym for Passion Orange Guava, a popular juice from Hawaii that spawned the collectible caps.) Cap collecting caught on there with glossy, colorful discs to replace the milkcaps. These quickly became a hot trading item. And Pogs then spread to kids on the West Coast, before exploding across the rest of the U.S., Mexico, and Canada.
"Pogs are totally hip and happening! My son's biggest concern is where his next Pog is coming from." -Ruth Dohs, mother of Pog collector, Brenden Dohs.
