Aralyn the Pink Mermaid |

Aralyn was created without the use of molds over a strong wire armature. She would be 6 inches in length if stretched out. She was made from a special polymer blend of clays. She has closed eyes and pink painted and sealed lips. She has silver lilac tibetan lambs hair and 3 shells from the island of Cayo Coco in Cuba. Her tail is painted a pink and purple color with individual sculpted scales. Her fin is made from TLS and has tiny holeless beads in silver and pink with some clear ones. Aralyn's Story |

Aralyn was born into the South Forest Royal Mer family. She was a pink mermaid just like her mother. Actually she looked a lot like her mother. She had pale lilac hair and a pinkish purple tail. She was told by many of the elders that she was a dreamer. A person who dreams will not make it in this merworld her father said.
But she kept to herself and wanted to dream. She always went to the surface to see the world. She wanted to see the humans run, play and swim. She didn�t want to be human she just wanted to see them.
On this particular day Aralyn was swimming along the ocean floor on her usual route to the surface. She always swam by the grottos turned right at the brain coral and then left at the cave. Turning left at the cave brought her to the rock wall that went to the surface. She skimmed the wall to the surface. On the surface of the water she swam into the small cave to the opening on the land side that was in the sun. This is where she watched the humans. She stayed out of sight on the rocks but was able to jump into the water if needs be.
She pulled herself up onto the first rock and moved onto the lower one from that so she could just poke her head out and watch. There wasn�t too many people on the beach that day so far. But it was still early.
She sat and starred out at the beach at the people with their children and colored towels. She lived for water and they just played in it and dried off. She watched as more people arrived and set out their items on the sand. She scooped up some water and poured it over her to keep herself wet and started to mimick the sunbathers. She turned her head towards the sun and grabbed her tail as she strained towards the sun. In the process she nearly fell over back into the water. She popped up and looked around to see if anybody saw her. She ducked back down when she saw a little girl coming towards her spot. She peeked through the hole in the big rock and didn�t see her. She turned around and there stood the little girl watching her.
�Hello. What are you?�
�I am a mermaid. What are you?�
�I am a child. Why are you hiding?�
� I am hiding because I am not like you. I swim in the ocean. I swim in Viridis ocean that is my home.�
�But you will drown.�
�I swim underwater and can breathe under water.�
�Oh. Can I go with you? You are very pretty. I like to see under the water.�
�Maybe one day you can. Is this your first time to the ocean?�
�Yes. Mummy passed away last year and promised to take me to the ocean and I didn�t get to go. So daddy brought me today.�
�I�m sorry to hear about your mummy. Maybe when you are older you can come with me.�
�Katie, where are you?� Aralyn heard her father coming. She looked at the little girl and smiled and dove back into the water and disappeared.
