One Last Time

If I could hear one last time
I would hear the sounds of water running slowly by
I would hear the sounds of a butterfly
I would hear the sounds of the morning dew
I would take the time to hear the sounds with you

If I could laugh one last time
I would laugh at the things that made me mean
I would laugh at the foolish things I've seen
I would laugh about the time I had the flu
I would take the time to laugh with you

If I could cry one last time
I would cry in times of pure happiness
I would cry in times of burdened stress
I would cry in times when men are cruel
I would take the time to cry with you

If I could walk one last time
I would walk to places I've never been
I would walk slower to see what I can
I would walk to see something new
I would take the time to walk with you

If I could learn one last time
I'd learn the things I needed to know
I'd learn to make more friends than foe
I'd learn the things I never knew
I would take the time to learn with you

If I could listen one last time
I would listen to the words untold
I would listen for things to unfold
I would listen well to the songs I knew
I would take the time to listen to you

If I could talk one last time
I would talk about my happiness and fears
I would talk about my joy and tears
I would talk about nothing too
I would  talk and tell you I love you

If I could live one last time
I would fly a kite as high as I could
I would  love everyone as I should
I would care so much for you
I would live my life forever with you

Religion

What a humorous thing
Faith that God meant to begin
Inner happiness, life again
Blood feasts of gore and bone
Makes the soul grief and forlorn
Is this the meaning of God's word?
Does he mean for us to defend
Our own self-righteousness belief til the end?
The truth is written in all books foretold
Of God's people - our faith and grace
Not to kill nor slay each other
But to lovingly treat all as brother
I laugh and sob at such
A joke as mankind slays
Each other like cattle going into the butcher shop
I only pray that God ends
This blood bath before it happens
That father and son are face to face
With blades ready to disgrace
All this in the name of God?!

The Watch

I am the flag of the United States of America,
my name is Old Glory,
I fly atop the world's tallest buildings,
I stand the watch in America's halls of justice,
I fly majestically over great institutions of learning,
I stand guard with the greatest military power on Earth.

Look up- and see me!
I stand for peace... honor... truth... and justice.
I stand for freedom... I am confident... I am proud...
when I am flown with my fellow banners...
my head is a little higher...
my colors a little truer...
I bow to no one!

I am recognized all over the world...
I am worshiped... I am saluted... I am respected...
I am revered... I am loved and I am feared.

I have fought in every battle of every war,
for more than 200 years:
Gettysburg, Shilo, Appomattox, San Juan Hill,
The Trenches of France, The Argonne Forest, Anzio,
Rome, The Beaches of Normandy, The Jungles of Guam,
Okinawa, Japan, Korea, Vietnam the Persian Gulf and
a score of places long forgotten by all but those,
who were there with me... I was there.

I led my Sailors and Marines,
I followed them, I watched over them...
they loved me.

I was on a small hill in Iwo Jima,
I was dirty, battle worn and tired,
but Americans cheered me and I was proud!

I have been soiled, burned, torn and trampled
on in the streets around the world
as well as my own country,
and when it is by those whom I've watched over... it hurts.
But I shall overcome... for I am strong!

I have slipped the bonds of earth
and from my vantage point on the moon...
I stand watch over the uncharted new frontiers of space.

I have been a silent witness to all of America's finest hours...
but my finest hours come when I am torn
into strips to be used as bandages
for my wounded comrades on the field of battle...
when I fly half mast
to honor my Sailors and Marines...
and when I lie in the trembling arms of a grieving mother,
at the grave side of her fallen son or daughter

I am proud...
my name is Old Glory...
Long may I wave...
Dear God, long may I wave.

If I Had A Hammer

If I had a hammer
I'd hammer in the morning
I'd hammer in the evening ... all over this land,
I'd hammer out danger
I'd hammer out a warning
I'd hammer out love between all of my brothers and my
sisters
All over this land.

If I had a bell
I'd ring it in the morning
I'd ring it in the evening ... all over this land,
I'd ring out danger
I'd ring out a warning
I'd ring out love between all of my brothers and my
sisters
All over this land.

If I had a song
I'd sing it in the morning
I'd sing it in the evening ... all over this world,
I'd sing out danger
I'd sing out a warning
I'd sing out love between all of my brothers and my
sisters
All over this land.

If I've got a hammer
And I've got a bell
And I've got a song to sing ... all over this land,
It's a hammer of justice
It's a bell of freedom
It's a song about love between all of my brothers and my
sisters
All over this land.

America's Giant

Untold numbers dead, a war is drawing near,
Many people injured, I can only shed a tear.
Soldiers are returning, to be sent right back again,
Screaming, moaning, weeping echoed all throughout the wind.
Mothers losing children, people loosing lives.
Workers trapped in buildings, being forced to take their dives.
Damage unpredictable, rumors spread around.
Horrific sights of two large buildings, crashing to the ground.
Many people hurt, hospitals over-flow.
Awake o' Sleeping Giant, let America's power show.
The gateway is now open; the Nation shall unite,
You shall receive your battle, be ready for a fight.
Our morals grew larger, as people died before our eyes,
Just like old Pearl Harbor, you will pay with much demise.
You blew up what we cherished, our livesyou have destroyed,
You shall regret your action, when our army is deployed.
So in this poem I tell you, you have made a big mistake.
Now, I can guarantee you, Our Giant Shall Awake.
