�A RESOLUTION DECLARING THE CANDABA SWAMP AS BIRD SANCTUARY�.

            WHEREAS , on October 17, 2003, the Sangguniang Bayan passed a Resolution entitled �A Resolution Declaring Candaba As A Fresh Water Aquaculture Resource and Fish Sanctuary Zone for the purpose of protecting and preserving its flora and fauna;

            WHEREAS, the Candaba Swamp also plays host to the famous migratory birds of China known locally as Dumara, now considered an endangered specie, the vanishing kind of tagak (heron), wis, kandungango and kingfisher among others;

            WHEREAS, equally important is that the declaration will ensure the protection and preservation of the dwindling birds as hunting and shooting of their kind will be considered illegal;

            WHEREAS, the declaration of the Candaba Swamp as bird sanctuary and freshwater aquaculture resources and fish sanctuary will bolster the municipality�s quest of harnessing and developing its eco-tourism potential;

            NOW THEREFORE, on motion of Coun. Pedro Guevarra duly seconded by Coun. Yolanda R. Miclat, be it;

            RESOLVED AS IT IS HEREBY RESOLVED, to enact this resolution declaring the Candaba Swamp as Bird Sanctuary;

            APPROVED.
